We are a self-funded and independent cultural association formed by artists and specialists from different areas of art and culture.
Since 2007 we developed a decentralized activity in the district of Pueblo Libre, working around the production and dissemination of contemporary art projects, creating and promoting meetings, workshops, residencies, talks and presentations in the field of performing arts, music, video and other multi-disciplinary practice, with an emphasis on performance art and action art.
Through our own activities and those of other artists, we seek to create a space for research, experimentation, dialogue and exchange of artistic practices and communications, contributing to the work developed from various local platforms; like individuals, groups and art spaces.
We have a warehouse of 250 m2 with particular physical characteristics. We preserve its warehouse appearance as a way of retaining traces of its history as part of the urban identity of the district - a district outside the circuit of galleries and cultural-world set . The feature of the space around us coincides with the interest of the artists working in elgalpon.espacio, to develop projects that link memory, identity and contemporary languages ​​of artistic expression.
