Neus Torres Tamarit (Valencia, Spain 1984) is a multidisciplinary artist based in London nowadays. Her artworks are constant conclusions of the concepts and thoughts she started to work with during her degree in Fine Arts (Miguel Hernandez University, Elche, Alicante, Spain, 2002/2007), subject that has been changing as she has been moving forward in her creations and in her life.
Dualities of interior – exterior, private – public, objective – subjective are reflected in her installations, photographs and mixed media artworks in which Neus evokes a solipsistic world and the idea of revealing reality fragments around her, giving special attention to the details of her everyday life is materialised with artworks of different nature but related in meaning.
Nowadays, in a world full of information that comes from diverse media, a world in which the personal life seems not to exist anymore, being public with all the internet social platforms, Neus Torres Tamarit artwork tries to bring a reflection on small details that make our lives different, working in a style that sometimes reminds to the Povera Art and sometimes has a Surrealist hint, reflecting a nostalgic appearance and expressing the need of a delimited space, a personal space, that sometimes adopts recognised shapes and other voluminous forms.
