Sylvia Toy St. Louis is an actor and videographer. She makes videoart and experimental movies composed of scenes that are improvised on camera, mostly in front of a green screen. She is the sole proprietor of Sylviatoyindustries/Kitchen Scenes Studio in San Francisco. St. Louis was a stage actor, solo performance actor and playwright for almost 20 years. Her specialty as a theater artist was playing multiple characters; she is a skilled mimic and played several characters in a scene at the same time. Ms. St. Louis was a professional sculptor for many years and her mostly life-sized, handcarved mixed media wooden figures are in collections all over the United States. She was the founding artistic director of Jump! Theatre Company from 2005 to 2010. She also is a blogger and published an e-book, "Writing While Manic," compiled from her blog, "Artist's Life 101," in August 2013. Sylvia Toy St. Louis' other interests are bipolar blogging, mentoring other artists in social networking and self-promotion, and videoing and documenting graffiti.
