Ian Henderson is a graduate of Edinburgh College of Art. He maintains a diverse artistic practice that has encompassed ceramics, printmaking and, more recently artist moving image and video installations. Recent video work has concentrated on exploring a non-narrative approach to image creation; mixing complex soundtracks with imagery derived from the landscape, spiritual writings, religious iconography and the lurking terrors of fairy tales. He currently works as a self-employed artist but he has spent many years in as a Fine Art Lecturer as well as developing and managing community based participatory arts programmes. He lives and works in the South Queensferry area.
